The Vancouver Art Guild was created by and for visual artists. Membership is maintained at 32 to facilitate organization of activities and meetings and to allow members greater opportunity for meaningful interaction. The Guild has a waiting list and interviews new members when a vacancy occurs.
Non members are invited to participate in the Painter’s Art Studio on Wednesday afternoons.

Members are required to have a solid grounding in composition, mediums, techniques and colour theory. Several Vancouver community centres offer courses covering these topics at a reasonable cost.
The inaugural membership is $100, which includes a one-time initiation fee. After the first year the annual membership fee is $25.

Each year the Guild, in conjunction with Opus Framing & Art Supplies, provides scholarships for as many as three Vancouver secondary school graduates, chosen for their artistic excellence and acceptance into post secondary Fine Art Studies. One of these Scholarships is awarded in memory of Michael Saya-Moore, long time Guild member, and made possible through a fund established with the Guild by Michael's family and friends in 2007
The recipients of the 2010 year Vancouver Art Guild Scholarships are: Charlotte Lee, of Prince of Wales Secondary, Diane Quach of Windermere Secondary.
The Michael Saya-Moore Scholarship was awarded to: Marchel B. Eang of Lord Byng Secondary,
Marchel is enrolled in the Design Formation Program at Langara College. Charlotte and Diane will study at the Emily Carr University of Art and Design.
