The Guild, in conjunction with the West Point Grey Community Centre, hosts the Painter’s Art Studio between September and June, at the Jericho Hill Centre, 4196 West 4th Avenue. Drop-in sessions are held every Wednesday on a seasonal basis.
Non Guild members are invited and welcome to join us. There are usually about eight painters attending. While there is no regular instruction, the Guild provides a collegial, supportive environment in which to paint. Easels are available, please bring your own paints, paper and brushes.
The next session will begin September 14, and run until November 30th; $108 for 12 sessions or a $9 drop-in fee. Fees are payable to the West Point Grey Community Centre: www.westpointgrey.org or in person at 4397 West 2nd Avenue at the Office in the Gym building. For further information you may email: joslink@shaw.ca
During July and August the Guild organizes a Summer Painting Schedule for Plein Air excursions. In 2011 participants scheduled a full day on alternate Tuesdays to accommodate trips beyond Vancouver. A small core of painters carpooled (thanks to Elisa's Van) to Crescent Beach, Whytecliffe Park, Steveston; Iona Island Beach Park and Dundarave.

Road Trips: Seattle continues to be a favorite destination. On January 6, 2011, fifteen of the Art Guild members visited the Picasso Exhibit at the Seattle Museum of Art. The majority took the train the day before, using the opportunity to also do a little shopping and sight seeing; the rest drove down for the day. In 2001, we were even in the Gallery for the Seattle earthquake; that required a return trip to actually view the Exhibit. The Microsoft Collection was another popular trip to this city. The Guild’s first overnight excursion took some of us to the Art Museum and galleries in Portland.
Local Galleries: We regularly take the guided tour of Vancouver Art Gallery exhibitions and tour the annual Emily Carr Foundation Student Exhibit with our current Scholarship recipient.
Private Gallery visits include commercial galleries as well as individual artist’s studios. Artists and Gallery operators provide an overview of their work followed by questions and discussion. Recent visits include Rob Rennie's new private Museum, the Federation of Canadian Artist's Gallery, the Linda Lando Gallery and artists, Robert Genn, Pat O’Hara and Pat Service
