Vivian Bevis

I have always loved to draw and paint.  When I was a child my mother let me do large crayon murals on the walls before she stripped the wallpaper and re-decorated.  Such large works, I found, weren't practical in real life combined with family and a full time teaching career.  I kept drawing and painting but scaled down the size of my aspirations.  After retirement I illustrated three children's books by William New: Vanilla Gorilla, Llamas in the Laundry and Dream Helmet and realized I wanted to get back to painting in a major way.  The Art Guild has re-invigorated and encouraged that desire. Its members provide friendly, creative, stimulating support, opportunities for growth and challenging goals for which I am extremely grateful.
