I was born in Montreal and moved with my family to Vancouver in 1980.
As a child I dabbled in art, drawing birds, dogs, horses and buildings ad infinitum. As a young adult I took several drawing and painting classes at the Montreal Museum of Art. However work and family responsibilities kept this interest at bay for many years. It wasn't until the late 1990s that this lifelong interest burgeoned into a passion for watercolours. It happened at a Vancouver School Board evening mixed media class. I was shown what watercolours could do. The lovely flowing and intermingling of translucent colours delighted me and from that day forward I was hooked on the medium. Since then I have taken classes at the Vancouver Academy of Art and the Federation of Canadian Artists and from various painters in the community. My real inspiration is Zshu-Zshu Mark, who made me aware of the value of light. Other artists who have helped me on the way include Caroline Buchanan, Cheryl Fortier, James Lindfield, Bob McDermid, Linda Muttit, and Suzanne Northcott.
In addition to being a member of the Vancouver Art Guild, I am an Active Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists.
