Mary Stott

I began painting, motivated by my love of flowers and my desire to paint watercolour florals. After a few years, I started painting landscapes as well, inspired by the dramatic beauty of the Pacific West Coast. I have taken classes with Hele Kowallek, Fran Alley and Cheryl Fortier, in addition to completing workshops with several other accomplished artists.

In 2002, I joined the Vancouver Art Guild. That year, I exhibited my work for the first time in the University Women's Club of Vancouver's Members' Show in the Gallery at Hycroft and in the Vancouver Art Guild's November Salon. Since then, I have exhibited in these two annual shows, as well as at other venues with the Guild.

With a background in Business Administration, I worked in student services management at The University of British Columbia for several years. I now enjoy dividing my time between volunteering, traveling and pursuing my interest in art.
